Barbara Winter, Ph.D, has been in private practice in Boca Raton since 1990. She is dedicated to helping people achieve personal growth and improve their psychological and sexual health. Utilizing a blend of treatment approaches, Dr. Winter tailors the journey for self-examination and symptom relief to each individual's specific needs and goals.  

Dr. Winter earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova-Southeastern University in 1986.  After completing her clinical internship at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland , Ohio , Dr. Winter returned to South Florida to pursue her professional goals. She has had post-doctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, hypnosis and EMDR. In 1996 she earned a Diplomate in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists (ACS).

Dr. Winter is a fellow and training supervisor of the American Board of Sexology (ABS).  She is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), the Florida Society of Clinical Hypnosis (FSCH), and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).

Dr. Winter is Past-president and former Insurance and Hospital Practice Chairs of the Palm Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association (FPA).  She was instrumental in establishing National Eating Disorders Awareness Week and the mandatory parenting course for divorced parents in Palm Beach County .  She has taught at the undergraduate college level courses in Developmental/Child Psychology and Human Sexuality.

Dr. Winter has spoken on local and state levels on issues related to managed mental health care and participates in a variety of community activities.  A guest speaker for local hospitals, schools and community groups, Dr. Winter is committed to providing a high quality service to all of her patients. 

Originally born and raised in Long Island, New York, Dr. Winter has resided in South Florida for over 27 years.  She lives in Boca Raton with her husband and two sons.
